In 2009, I stumbled upon a couple of surfer’s trip to Australia. Unlike other surf trips that I had read about in magazines this one was done on motorcycles. The style of the trip was filmic, retro, and overflowing with style. Riding Dues bikes along the coastline and surfing some beautiful breaks. Also included was sketches and journal style blog entries that were personable and entertaining. While being sponsored by major companies - it was also authetic and real.
I love road trips. Americana. Taking the back roads. In 2009, I criss crossed the United States three times coast to coast via automobile. Each trip was unique. I made trips up the west coast from LA to Seattle.
This is why Keep Drifting Fun is a road trip and going to be a road movie. Its about the people in between and the journey, not just the destinations. Because for me, the destination is really just a break from the real adventure - which is on the road.
